Abstract
Considering the propositions of law 10.639/ 2003, this study intends to present a brief trajectory of art education in Brazil, trying to highlight the presence of the black in artistic works as thematic and as a subject that expresses itself artistically, transmitting his multiple knowledge through Art. These considerations can broaden the vision and understanding of the Black Hand in Brazilian art, its representations and its implications in education, allowing new reflections for teaching practice and for the critical artistic making of the students.

O nosso objetivo com essas colocações foi apresentar como a arte e seu ensino se articulam com questões raciais, não somente pela representação da população negra, mas também pela atuação de negros no circuito da arte e na arte/educação
Summary
Resumo: Tendo em vista as proposições da lei 10.639/2003, este estudo pretende apresentar uma breve trajetória da arte-educação no Brasil, tentando destacar a presença do negro em obras artísticas como temática e como sujeito que se expressa artisticamente, transmitindo seus múltiplos saberes através da Arte. Apesar das ações afirmativas já fazerem parte do cenário político nacional desde década de 1990, e da longa e árdua luta dos movimentos sociais por uma mudança no sistema educacional ter dado início a um debate diferenciado sobre as relações étnico-raciais no Brasil nos finais do século XX 3 , somente em 2003 é realizada uma modificação na Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional, estabelecendo a obrigatoriedade de ensino de História e Cultura Afro-brasileira no currículo escolar.
