Abstract

The enthalpy of formation of 1 1 copper benzyl malonate complex in aqueous solution determined by precision calorimetry is reported. The value is compared with that for the malonate complex and the influence of the bulky substituent in the ligand molecule on the stability of the complex, the thermodynamic parameters, and the Jahn—Teller distortion are discussed.
