Abstract

Abstract The success of any enterprise can be measured in different ways. Also, this success is influenced by many factors and variables. One of the key factors of industrial enterprises success is their sustainable performance. Enterprise effective performance management shall be supported by measurement and monitoring of performance of its employees. The article is focused on performance management practice in industrial enterprises in Slovakia. There is described empirical research carried out in industrial enterprises in Slovakia. Research was divided into two phases. The aim of first one was focused on performance measurement and assessment of employees. The first phase of the research was aimed, in particular, on workforce assessment systems applied in industrial enterprises. The next phase of research was focused on quantitative empirical research in area of performance management. The paper presents and compares results of both research phases.
