Abstract

Abstract In the last two decades, the alignment of Information Technologies (IT) and the business needs are continuous requirements. These needs arise from continuous development of a specific solution for a specific problem, without ever worrying if, in the future, such solutions can be integrated to others. In order to line up the IT with the business needs in terms of development of information systems, the use of Enterprise Architecture (EA) approaches start to be explored. The existence of an EA allows the communication infrastructure, applications, security plans, data, network services and other domains to be somehow correlated. The support for EA’s development also benefits the maintenance, since the out of date or inoperability can be avoided. This short paper describes the approach that is being followed to implement an EA on an agile and flexile automotive company, the Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal. In order to achieve this goal, an investigation is being conducted over what has already been done in the company to align with internal guidelines. Later on, a survey and analysis will be conducted on what is already implemented and correspondent business objectives alignment. From the current state of the existing architecture, a plan for EA improvements will be analyzed and proposed.
