Abstract
The paper reveals the specific nature of competitiveness improvement of domestic industry based on internal resources employed for development of the national economy. The author emphasizes the need to focus on the requirements for institutions, technological base, and human capital to improve the competitiveness of Russian industry. Russia is bound to restore its competitive positions in the national and global markets, which declined during transition from the old economic system to the new one and from the old industrial base to the advanced one, using technologies appropriate for the new technological structure. Universal neo-industrialization of the Russian economy should be regarded as the imperative of industrial restoration on a new technological base. Increased labor productivity and the system of technical renewal of the national economy are currently among the priorities of its development. This study provides data that can be used to elaborate a strategy for micro and macro managing the promotion of the competitiveness of Russian industry. The author employed instrumental and methodological research apparatus based on principles of systemic and functional analysis.
