Abstract

Title: Essay of a methodology with indicators for community-based tourism: The case of Terri- torio da Serra do Brigadeiro - Brasil Abstract: The Community-Based Tourism (CBT) project was carried out in the territory known as Bri- gadeiro Mountain, which is located in the forest zone of the state of Minas Gerais - Brazil. Supported by the Department of Tourism, the aim of this project was to develop a methodology based on the ordering of the touristic potential in the studied territory by using specific indicators. The scores obtained for the indicators and other used parameters, in the Galdinos CBT, revealed that the Brigadeiro Mountain pre- sents a touristic aptitude. This would open the possibility to develop a more elaborate touristic planning based mainly on the attractive activities found in that region such as hospitality, forest walks, traditions and secular habits.
