Abstract

The main objective of the study is to enhance the cellulase production using Plackett Burman Design (PBD) and Central Composite Design (CCD) by Aspergillus nidulan in Submerged fermentation (SmF). The screening of nine nutrients for their influence on cellulase production is achieved using Plackett-Burman design. Yeast extract, MnSO4·H2O, avicel and beef extract were selected based on their positive influence on cellulase production. The selected components were optimized using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). At the optimum condition, a maximum cellulase production of 11.6 IU/mL was obtained.
