Abstract
The current paper presents a new reference current generation algorithm for shunt active power filter (SAPF) combined with distributed generation systems using the instantaneous power theory (IPT) which is organized in two main blocks. The first is the synchronization technique; we propose a new quasi open loop technique that combines a Decoupled double self-tuning filter (DDSTF) and a single-phase frequency locked loop (FLL). The DDSTF is a new technique that extracts and separates the positive and negative sequence voltage under highly unbalanced and distorted conditions with no need to the symmetrical component and/or signals delay. The FLL achieve the grid frequency adaptation. Unlike the existing frequency estimators, this technique is motivated by its simplicity and the immunity to the voltage signal amplitude and phase variation or disturbance, which is a great advantage. The second is an ADALINE in power space to separate the fundamental harmonic from the distortion harmonics of the measured currents. The effectiveness of the proposed OLS technique in their application to the SAPF is validated by simulation.
