Abstract

At the University of Wyoming Libraries, patrons and staff at the Curriculum Materials Center experienced difficulties in search and inventory control for nontraditional curriculum items. Librarians in Technical Services and the Information Technology departments developed a workflow to photograph these items and add the images to catalog records using Innovative Interfaces's (III's) Media Management, while also enhancing traditional metadata for these records. Images of the curriculum materials now display as visual metadata in the catalog along with improved textual metadata from the MARC record.
