Abstract

In this paper we have studied the energy harvesting of Barium Titanate based perovskite laminated over brass substrate in a reverse trapezoidal shaped cantilever beam. The lead free Barium Titanate based ceramics is used as a piezoelectric material. The piezo-ceramic 0.5Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3–0.5(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 (50BZT-50BCT) was spread uniformly over the substrate made of brass. The simulations were performed using finite element analysis method using boundary conditions for different geometrical constructions as well as proof mass and mode shapes. The final shape and parameters were established for generating highest energy from vibration.
