Abstract

Low firing NP0-type Bi2(Mg2/3Nb4/3)O7 / 0.9Bi2(Mg2/3Nb4/3)O7 − 0.1SrCO3 / 0.7Bi2(Mg2/3Nb4/3)O7 − 0.3SrCO3 tri-layer composite ceramics are fabricated using solid state sintered technology at low sintering temperature of 950 °C. Compared to the single-layer ceramics, the tri-layers reveal prominently enhanced dielectric performance. The enhanced-mechanism of dielectric properties is elucidated in multilayer structure due to the influence of interface. A low dielectric loss tangent of 0.0018 and near-zero τε value of − 29 ppm/°C can be obtained, while dielectric constant is increased to ~200. The results indicate that the tri-layer composite ceramics are excellent candidates for low firing negative-positive-zero-type multilayer ceramic capacitors.
