Abstract

Automatic generation control (AGC) scheme is formulated to regulate output power of more than one generator installed at different power plant in reaction to variation in demand of load. This paper aspires to the arrangement of Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers for two area power system network coupled together. PID controller has been used by most of the researchers in two area power system network. The issue of design a PID controller economically flexible and robust and tuning parameter is open. This paper presents an improved PID profit by JAYA Algorithm. Jaya algorithm is a new optimization technique in which less number of parameters are required for its implementation. AGC has been developed for two area power system network employing Jaya algorithm based PID controller. The errors between desired and actual frequency response are calculated by means of Mean Square Error (MSE). MATLAB/ Simulation result reveals that AGC of both area power system network with Jaya algorithm based PID controller assist to accomplish the frequency response.
