Abstract

This article, Automatic Generation Control (AGC) of two area power system used Differential evolution algorithm technique with the consideration of generation rate constraint (GRC). The proposed system with Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller is considered for the analysis. The ITAE objective function is employed for optimizing of PID controller parameters by using the DE optimization technique. The proposed DE based PID controller are compared with published result in the same system such as Bacteria Foraging Optimization Algorithm (BFOA), Genetic Algorithm (GA) based PID controller. The proposed system to shows the robustness of the optimized controller parameters by varying the system parameters and different loading condition from their nominal values. It is also analyzed the effect of physical constraints such as such as time delay, reheat turbine, GRC, and Governor Dead Band (GDB) nonlinearity.
