Abstract

Listening, as a basic skill in English learning skills, is the main way for learners to obtain language input. Therefore, cultivating students' English listening learning strategies has always been a necessary task in English teaching. In the English listening learning strategies, the metacognitive strategies, as one of the most important strategies, is the learning process for learners to improve their English listening level. Through the investigation of the use of metacognitive strategies of English listening in junior high school students, this paper explores the problems, and combined with the English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education (2022 edition), it provides effective suggestions for improving students' English listening learning from different angles.
