Abstract

Publication of an Ashmolean ostrakon preserving an order to pay from the archive of Theopemptos and Zacharias. The sherd, which dates to the Sasanian occupation of Egypt (specifically to 626), was misclassified as demotic and thus eluded publication alongside other Oxford components of the archive.
