Abstract

Teamwork is an important competence to be developed among students and this paper presents a case study related with teamwork competence assessment and development. Several processes take place during team assignment among students. We consider that the development of teamwork competence is related with being efficient in those processes. From a literature review of the processes that arise during teamwork, we present a evaluation tool which includes formative feedback in order to help students to target their own teamwork competence development. By providing students with guidelines for improvement, it seems reasonable to expect a better performance in subsequent experiences and thus it is also reasonable to assume the progressive competence development. A total of 58 teams from a Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Industrial Engineering have been evaluated with this tool and therefore some conclusions are presented http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/HEAd15.2015.353
