Abstract

Carbon–carbon bond-forming reactions represent a large group of very important organic reactions. Many of the most effective CC bond-forming reactions were successfully carried in ball-milling conditions. These include metal-catalyzed couplings (Mizoroki–Heck, Suzuki, Sonogashira, and Glaser reactions), condensation reactions (Michael, aldol, and Knoevenagel reactions and also their enantioselective variants), Wittig, Morita–Baylis–Hillman, pinacol, Grignard, McMurry, Horner–Wadsworth–Emmons, Grignard–Zerewitinoff-like reactions, Barbier allylation, olefin cross-metathesis, and cross-dehydrogenative coupling.
