Abstract

IntroductionMesentery diseases represent a heterogeneous group of processes of diverse etiology, usually infrequent and nonspecific presentation. This leads to a delay in diagnosis process and a significant consumption of healthcare resources. Differential diagnosisAmong the differential diagnosis they include those of infectious, tumor, inflammatory and vascular nature. We will devote this chapter to the last two. Mesenteric ischemiaMesenteric ischemia is an entity of high mortality, requiring a high degree of clinical suspicion. The most severe form is presented as acute mesenteric ischemia; while ischemic colitis is the most common form.
