Abstract
Motor neuron diseases are a group of conditions characterized by impairment of the first and/or second motor neuron. As a whole, they are a group of debilitating and progressive diseases. The most common are amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in adults and spinal muscular atrophy in children. These diseases currently have no curative treatment, and their symptomatic treatment is essential to increasing patients’ quality of life and survival. Thus, care provided by multidisciplinary units represents significant progress in these diseases.
