Abstract

Energy transfer processes between Tb3+ and Eu3+ activated Y2O3 crystals were investigated both by static and kinetic analysis of luminescence. In particular the mechanism of Tb → Tb and Tb → Eu energy transfer processes was investigated. The donor-donor and donor-acceptor parameters characterizing Tb → Tb and Tb → Eu energy transfer were determined. We have found that in the (Eu, Tb, Y)2O3 crystals not only Tb → Eu but also Eu → Tb energy transfer occurs.
