Abstract

ABSTRACT TWO models were developed to quantify the energy sequestered in lifetime repairs and maintenance of agricultural machinery as compared with the energy sequestered in new machinery. Ratios of repair and maintenance energy to manufacturing and retailing energy were found to be 0.55 and 1.38; the ratio 0.55 is recommended for future use.
