Abstract
Ad hoc mobile cloud is a novel mobile task offloading framework, where mobile device users can share the computation resources with each other to achieve energy efficient task execution. This collaboration task execution strongly relies on nearby mobile user cooperation. Therefore, how to ensure the mobile users to share their computation resources is a challenging issue. In this paper, we propose an incentive-aware task offloading algorithm based on auction mechanism, aiming at stimulating mobile devices to participate in cooperative task processing and minimizing energy consumption. In the auction, service requester acts as the buyer, who collects the bid information from the nearby resource providers and matches the appropriate mobile device for each task according to the bid information and available resources. The proposed mechanism encourages nearby users to contribute their vacant resource with a reward return, which guarantees the long-term incentive of the collaboration. Through theoretical analysis and simulation verification, the proposed mechanism satisfies the performance of individual rationality, budget balance and truthfulness, as well as minimizes the energy consumption.
