Abstract
Energy levels of f-f transitions of Pr3+ ions in LaF3+ ions in LaF3, PrF3 and LaCl3 single crystals have been determined from optical absorption and emission studies at cryogenic temperatures. Older data are revised considerably, with strong changes in the energy-level positions of the 1D2, 3P0 and 3P1 states.
