Abstract

In this article, an attempt has been made to design, fabricate and analyse a single-slope floating-cum-tilted wick-type solar still in terms of energy, exergy and entropies of the still. A new simplified analytical expression for instantaneous exergy efficiency of the proposed still by incorporating the variation of instantaneous energy and entropy of the still has been written and solutions have been found. A comprehensive analysis of the system has been presented by determining the exergy destroyed by internal irreversibility due to the variation of entropy and energy during the working hours of the system.
