Abstract

The ozone generation process in the tubular ozonizer powered by high voltage pulses was investigated. The decrease in energy efficiency of the process along discharge gap, i.e. the decrease related with ozone concentration increase, was shown. The effect of power density and gas residence time in the discharge gap on energy efficiency of the process was analyzed. The boundary value of energy efficiency was experimentally determined in a dielectric barrier discharge occurring in pure oxygen. The maximum value of energy efficiency was discussed.
