Abstract

A method is described for the determination of the energy distribution curves of photoelectrons emitted by solutions of sufficiently low vapor pressure. Results are reported and analyzed qualitatively for emission by lithium ferro-cyanide in glycerol. The method allows the study of (a) energy transfer during the motion of quasi-free electrons in polar liquids of low vapor pressure, and (b) generation of quasi-free electrons by optical excitation.
