Abstract

The effective form factor describing pair transfer in heavy-ion collisions is generalized to include recoil effects and the energy dependence of the interaction potential. It is based on a microscopic description of the transfer process treated to second order in the single-particle potential. The result is also formulated in terms of the macroscopic description of pair transfer analogous to that associated with the excitation of surface modes. The angular distributions calculated by semiquantal methods are compared to experimental data. With the present prescription, the discrepancy between theory and recently published experimental data is reduced by two orders of magnitude.
