Abstract
The excitation of surface modes and extensive body modes in (1 0 0) single crystal nickel films epitaxially deposited onto NaCl substrates are reported. The calculations are based on the surface inhomogeneity model of Puszkarski. It is found that the exchange parameter D has a value equal to (56±3) × 10 -30 erg cm -2.
