Abstract
Connecting all devices through the Internet is now practical via the Internet of Things (IoT). Typically, IoT is characterized by using smart and self-configuring objects that can interact with each other via global network infrastructure. The Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) designed for IoT are tiny, cheap, and power-efficient sensor nodes designed for efficient data transmission. Meanwhile, the network lifetime remains to be the greatest challenge and therefore appropriate routing is needed for delay-less transmission. This paper intends to propose a new cluster-based routing strategy in IoT that attains improved scalability, robustness, and so on. However, the Cluster Head (CH) selection remains to be the critical aspect, which is progressed using a new optimization algorithm termed as search and rescue optimization algorithm (SAR). This cluster head selection obviously will deal with certain constraints like (i) Energy (ii) Distance and (iii) Delay, respectively. Finally, the performance of the proposed work is proved concerning certain performance measures.
