Abstract

This paper gives the parameters of an equivalent circuit representing the end effect in an open-circuited two-wire transmission line. The complete equivalent circuit requires termination of the line in a parallel combination of capacitance and conductance, but it is shown that in all practical cases, capacitive effects dominate.
