Abstract

In order to investigate the effect of host-guest inclusion on the stability of emulsion, two host-guest inclusion complexes (CDP-APC16 and CDP-APP4 respectively) were constructed by using cyclodextrin polymer (CDP) and amphiphilic polymers(named APC16, APP4). The optimal inclusion ratios of APP4 and APC16 with CDP were explored and the O/W emulsion were prepared by APC16, APP4, CDP-APC16 and CDP-APP4. The stability of these four types of emulsion were analyzed by laser particle size analyzer and rheometer etc. The mechanism of inclusion complex emulsion stability was discussed by interfacial viscosity and interfacial viscoelasticity. The CDP including hydrophobic chain can form a more stable network structure and the free hydrophobic chain of CDP-APC16 easily insert into oil phase to emulsify the oil. The longer hydrophobic chain length of APC16 is easier to be included by CDP than that of APP4.Therefore, the CDP-APC16 inclusion complex emulsion show better stability. The inclusion complex shows a prospect application in tertiary oil recovery.
