Abstract

The deck of the access viaduct from Cádiz of Constitución de 1812 cable-stayed Bridge, with a length of 581,3m and an average width of 33,20m, is a structure of double composite action. The construction process used is the launching of the deck from one side with the aid of a temporary active stay system to save the standard span length of 75m (maximum). The steel section of the deck is pushed with the floor slabs stockpiled on it and a central street of 6m width of the upper slab concreted representing a total weight of 81.000kN.This article describes the main features of the structure of the deck, along with the maneuvers and most significant launching auxiliary elements.
