Abstract
This is a brief article on the decision of the Court of Appeal of Uganda in the matter of an Employment dispute between Florence Mufumba and Uganda Development Bank. The background to this is that Florence had been dismissed by Uganda Development Bank under questionable circumstances. The Industrial Court, the first port of call in employment matters in Uganda in determining this matter returned a ground breaking decision in favour of Florence the employee. Uganda Development Bank appealed. This is an analysis of that appeal.
