Abstract
The article focuses on a research by Pamela Tierney, Steven Farmer, and George Graen on the role of leadership in employee creativity. Their research found that employee characteristics, supervisor characteristics, and the relationship between employees and their supervisors plays a significant role in determining the level of creative performance of employees. The study revealed some interesting associations between employee personal characteristics, leader-employee relationships, and creative performance. They found that employees higher in innovative cognitive style and intrinsic motivation often had higher creativity ratings than those who were lower in these characteristics.
