Abstract

Today management education has to address a wide variety of critical issues and the Management Institutions are left no option except to face the challenge of providing placements irrespective of what the quality of intake of students and this is not just the demand from the students but also turns out to be an expectation from the society too. On this premise of challenges and expectations, Management Institutions strive to look for developing employability skills among their students and it is a puzzle to select a proper approach that may have more employability alternatives to management studies, the present article is an attempt to evaluate the Employability skills of the select students and to highlight the importance of various social innovation educational strategies adopted by Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). An Exploratory Research study on Employability skills is carried out and a descriptive study on Social innovation. Logistic regression tool has been used to study the prevalence of employability skills among the students. Nearly 142 students responded to the questionnaire and based on their answers about their skills, logical regression technique was applied to see the ranks given by them for the skills. The results show that maximum number of students have assertiveness in the first place and problem solving ability in the second place and social inter personal skill in the third place. However, the remaining skills follow the degree of assertiveness, problem solving ability and social interpersonal skills. The innovation in education and entrepreneurship is the need of the day. The creation of social innovation platform is necessary to improve the social skills of the student through collaborations, and networks with the MSMEs.
