Abstract

Learning ability is a primary symbol, which distinguishes humanity from other creatures and plays an important role in travel decision-making. To explore the major effects of learning ability on travelers' characteristics, the paper first divides the influence on travel decision-making into static and dynamic factors based on the functions of individual travel behavior factors and analyzes the effects on travelers' characteristics from the aspects of learning ability. Subsequently, qualitative analysis of travel behaviors is conducted. Then, the paper proposes structural equation model (SEM) of individuals' travel behavior analysis. With the daily travel data derived from Binhai New Area, Tianjin, model estimation, evaluation, and modification are demonstrated. Finally, explanations of the results are presented, which indicate that there is a strong effect of learning ability on travel behavior.
