Abstract

Using the example of the novel Blue (Plava) by Magdalena Miković, the paper investigates the way in which emotions as mental states affect our physical health, cognitive development, decision-making, but also the understanding of literary texts. Given the fact that the best approach to explaining the representation of emotions in literary texts is to focus on the literary techniques that manifest emotional states, this paper tries to explain the textual strategies with the help of which the emotional roller coaster is represented, which resulted in a deeper understanding of readers.
