Abstract
The emergency optical access system is proposed for communication interruptions caused by irresistible natural disasters. The system which is based on EPON adopts modular design and realizes hardware and software’s organic integration. By using dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm, the system can provide an integrated access of data, video, voice and multimedia business on the same platform. It uses the G.652 optical fiber. When the transmission distance is 20 kms, it reaches the system’s capacity as the downstream and upstream rates are 1.25 Gb/s. The system performance is simulated and verified through network software, and it provides grounds for the system’s organizing and management in a mobile environment.
