Abstract
The purpose of this work is to disseminate the findings related to the reproduction trials of the species Ucides occidentalis, which are especially linked to the basic infrastructure and equipment for obtaining seeds. It is necessary to add that bibliographical information on this species is scarce, which is why it was associated with other types of organisms. It is explained from the capture of the females to the obtaining of the larval stage, remaining to complete the investigation, through future trials and new reproduction attempts. The monitoring of the females was for 90 days, and at this same time the development of larvae and water quality, microbiological and pathological analyzes were carried out. The main results show that the reproduction of Ucides occidentalis requires a study related to the management of the mothers and the larval development where several factors of great importance influence.
