Abstract
SUMMARYIn silver-stained whole mount spread preparations of male meiocytes at meiotic prophase of the cricket Gryllodes supplicans an Ag-positive structure is present in addition to synaptonemal complexes, the nucleolus and the round body. Comparison with conventional squash preparations and evidence obtained from literature suggest that this material may represent a transient structure associated with the X-chromatin.
