Abstract

This study analyses work performance factors, the ability to master work and work tools, and knowledge of the quality of work results of competent civil servants (PNS) in regularly inspecting motor vehicles in Indonesia. This study aims to determine knowledge as a mediating variable in the influence of work performance and the ability to master work and work tools on the quality of work results and its improvement strategy. The study's sample size was 180 people, and the total population was statistical test research using descriptive statistics with structural equation models using PLS-SEM. The study's results found that work performance and the ability to master work and tools did not directly affect the quality of work results. However, the mediation of variables of work performance knowledge and the ability to master work and work tools had a positive and significant effect on the quality of work results. Knowledge directly affects the quality of the results of work. The variables of work performance and the ability to master work and work tools directly affect understanding. Researchers suggest future research look for variable indicators of work performance, the ability to master work and tools, and learning to affect the quality of work results directly or indirectly.
