Abstract

The demand for blackberry (Rubus Eubatus Focke), as for berry crop, is constantly growing. The studies’ aim was to define an optimal type of a pot and an optimal nutrition for growing blackberry seedlings. The objects of the research were the blackberry variety ‘Ouachita’, Air Pot and the classic C10 plastic pot, Osmocote® Exact High K and OMU organomineral fertilizer for fruit and berry crops. The experiment took place in the “Love Berry” nursery situated in the Dmitrovsky district (Moscow region, Russia) in 2021 in five repetitions. It was discovered that the root system volume of the plant material and the length of its shoots has a low variation in different variants - up to 10%. The variation of shoots number is high and ranges from 25 to 40%. Root volume variability depends for 92% on the chosen fertilizers, with the highest values (900-1000 ml) achieved with Osmocote and 400-600 ml with OMU. As for the number of shoots, the variants of the research do not differ. The shoots length is affected as by a combination of factors (46%) so also pot’s (42%) and fertilizer’s (2%) types separately.
