Abstract

A general reinsurance treaty is considered. By applying methods from the theory of positively dependent random variables upper bounds for the variance of the claims amount taken by the reinsurer are derived. For the special case of a stoploss cover these bounds were already presented by Kremer (1990) and Hurlimann (1993).
