Abstract

Distinctive Ag/ZnWO4/WO3 composite nanofibers have been successfully synthesized by a simple electrospinning method followed by subsequent annealing treatment. The as-prepared composite nanofibers are systematically characterized by SEM, XRD, XPS, UV–vis DRS and PL spectra. The photocatalytic activity of Ag/ZnWO4/WO3 composite nanofibers to the degradation of Methyl Blue (MB) is evaluated under UV–vis light irradiation. The result shows that the photocatalytic degradation rate of Ag/ZnWO4/WO3 composite nanofibers reaches to 94% within 80 min, which is higher than that of single WO3 nanofibers and Ag/WO3 binary composite nanofibers. The enhanced photocatalytic efficiency of Ag/ZnWO4/WO3 composite nanofibers is attributed to the synergistic effect of three different activated materials.
