Abstract

Electrooptical properties of polymer dispersed liquid crystals have been studied, as well as the holographic and polarization diffraction gratings doped by inorganic nanoparticles of oxides Y2O3, CeO2:Y2O3, Nd2O3:Y2O3. The doping effect on electro optical properties of the composites on the base of nematic liquid crystals, times of response to the electrical impulse, and diffraction efficiency of the holographic gratings has been demonstrated. N anoparticle doping results in the reduction of driving voltage. Nanoparticles CeO2:Y2O3 in the polymer dispersed liquid-crystal impose more intensive influence on the driving voltage reduction than N d2O3: Y 2O3 nanoparticles. Moreover, it is demonstrated that the diffraction efficiency of the holographic gratings doped by rare-earth elements particles reduces, whereas the efficiency of the polarization diffraction gratings rises.
