Abstract
Abstract A brief review is given of main electro-optical effects in ferroelectric liquid crystals (FLC). The characteristics of the effects are compared from the viewpoint of applications. The perspective of electrooptical possibilities of FLC with strongly twisted helical structure is stressed.
