Abstract

The effect of conduction electron screening on the relevant electron-phonon interactions in InSb is considered, and compared with hot-electron results obtained in the temperature region below 20 °K in n-type InSb with electron concentrations of 5 × 1013-5 × 1014 cm-3. From this comparison it appears that piezoelectric scattering is not important and that a consideration of optical and acoustical deformation potential scattering is sufficient to yield a qualitative agreement. The value assumed for the deformation potential constant is 30 eV.
