Abstract

1982 was a year of important developments in aerospace, in which a number of projects came to fruition. But it was also a year of some frustration, with new developments endangered by budget cuts and economic conditions. The worldwide recession took its toll on commercial jetliners and the U.S. Space Shuttle program, to name two areas.
