Abstract
Using the universal parameter tight-binding method, we have investigated the electronic structures of C 60Br 6, C 60Br 8 and C 60Br 24 which have been synthesized recently. It is found that the electronic states of CBr ppσ bonds mix with those of CC ppπ bonds, and all these states form the closed shell structures of C 60Br 6, C 60Br 8 and C 60Br 24. It is also found that the density of states at the highest occupied state of C 60Br 24 which displays T h symmetry is high.
