Abstract

We have derived the selfconsistent soliton and bipolaron lattice solutions of the continuum version [1] of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model [2] generalized to include an external bond [3] and/or site dimerization [4], investigated their thermodynamic stability and used the explicitely derived Bloch eigen functions to calculate the wave number dependent complex dielectric function in random phase approximation, the loss function and the plasmon dispersion which were compared with results of electron energy loss experiments [5].
